I know I posted a similar blog of long hair a couple of months ago, but I consider this blog a better version of the topic. Anyway...I've always been a very girly girl so the last thing I want is to have short hair. The only time my hair was really short (ear-length) was when I was 5, horrible! My hair has been at shoulder-length for a while but lately I've been trying again to get it longer and these are the tips, that help me, and maybe you too, to achieve this.
1
First of all it's very important to start off with healthy hair, meaning no split ends. It IS possible to achieve long hair with split ends, but your hair will look very dry and it will also break easily. To maintain this, go see your hairdresser every 6-8 weeks. Also don't forget to mention that your hairdresser should only cut the ends...
2
Reduce the use of hair devices such as a blowdryer, a straight iron,... The heat damages your hair which is something you better avoid as much as possible if you really want your hair to become longer. Same rule for dying your hair....

Many people don't know this, but hairspray is one of the worst hairproducts. Ofcourse there are a lot of hairproducts who are bad for your hair, but hairspray has to be the worst of 'em all. If you're really into hairspray, try using organic hairsprays or hairprays with other natural extracts in it (like the Garnier fructis bamboo hairspray for example).

As for hairproducts: Some products give your hair a boost. For example conditioner. Conditioner helps the ends of your hair get stronger, which means it will take longer before split ends will show up. Use a conditioner everytime you was your hair, only at the ends. Another great thing that helps your hair is a hair mask. You can apply this all over your hair and rinse it after a couple of minutes. It is important you never apply conditioner when you're using a hair mask! Use a hair mask once a week.

Eat healthy. I know this is hard to do when your life's so hectic, but it's the best for your hair. Foods rich in vitamin A (dairy products, fish, spinach, apricots), vitamin B (meat, fish, bananas, leafy green vergetables), vitamin C (citrus, melon, tomatoes and potatoes) and vitamin E (nuts, broccoli, whole grains) are essential for truly healthy hair*
But remember: the best way to get longer hair is to be patient.
So try out these tips and enjoy your long hair ^_^
